“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” ~ Revelations 21:4 ~
In this article, I have compiled bible verses for mourning that really helped me when I lost my father in law.
Uurrgh… Some experiences are just too difficult to comprehend as humans.
It was a bright afternoon; I was home taking care of my youngest when I received a call from my husband. “He is gone” “What do you mean?”… I could not understand, “dad has rested, the surgery did not go well”
I did not know how to respond. I just went numb, locked myself and the baby in a room and wailed. I was so confused.
How, why, what happened? I couldn’t understand. The love I had for my father in love was so special I simply could not come to terms.
How was I going to comfort my husband? He doesn’t express his emotions openly but I knew I needed to be strong and help him get through the darkest moment in his life.
If you are going through a loss, or know someone close who has experienced a loss. My prayer is that you find comfort in the word of God. Hugs and more hugs.
It is well.

Matthew 11:28
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”

Matthew 5:4

1 Peter 5:7
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
1 Corinthians 15:52-57
52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
55 “Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”
56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.
14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.
16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.
2 Thessalonians 3:3
“But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.”
Hebrews 13:6
So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?”
Luke 6:21
“Blessed are you who hunger now,
for you will be satisfied.
Blessed are you who weep now,
for you will laugh.”
John 11:33
“When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled.”
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 14:1
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.”
Philippians 3:20-21
“But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.”
1 Corinthians 15:26
“The last enemy to be destroyed is death.”
Romans 8:18
“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.”
Romans 8:31-39
“31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:
“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,
39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
